Nonprofit Land Bank Amasses Billions (washingtonpost.com)

This is an article about the Nature Conservancy. The Nature Conservancy is one of the environmental organizations that I have actually grown to like because of their pro-business policies, and their recognition that if you really want to protect a spot of land, you should purchase that land rather than sending hordes of goombas to protest whoever owns it now.

This article seems to be a little uncomfortable with the idea of associating business under the tent of the environmental movement, but I disagree. If you want conservation to go faster (or to actually go forward at all), you are going to need the support (and probably a lot of the money) of corporations. It may be true that these corporations are doing this to get pollution credits or to clean up the image, but who cares. The end result is the same.
