Senate Deal Kills Effort to Extend Antiterror Act

A lot of people have argued that they need this act in order to effectively police terrorist organizations. I argee with that. However, like previous acts that limit civil liberties during war time, I think this act should be for the most part time-limited (although I could countenance some of the changes that make a search warrant apply to a person rather than a place).

By repealing this legislation and by slowly processing the inmates at Gitmo, we show that "big brother" arguments of some civil libertarians don't hold water.
