Jobless rate steady: "The U.S. unemployment rate remained at 6.1 percent in September as companies increased their payrolls for the first time in eight months, the government reported Friday. The data were better than economists’ forecasts."

The best part about the Democrats screaming about how a jobless recovery hurts Americans is that jobs lag GDP growth. If you think about it, you don't hire someone until there's work for him to do. My hope (for America, not just for politics) is that by Nov 2004, the economy and job creation are showing solid growth again.
