Political Wire: Clark Campaign In Revolt

There seems to be full scale turmoil in Wesley Clark's campaign. Following yesterday's resignation of his campaign manager, an open letter on the "Draft Clark" web site suggests the dissension is stronger and wider:

"By the time you read these words, the bell will be tolling for Wesley Clark's candidacy. It will be clear across the country that the campaign of Wesley Clark is nothing more than the Gore campaign with a better candidate - this will mean that activists, the people who can create a field organization that can win Iowa and New Hampshire, will know that this campaign is nothing more than a media creation."

Kos, one of the Draft Clark founders, says there is a "vicious (and public) power struggle as the Washington consultants led by Fabiani take control of the campaign."

Internal politics in the Democratic party are so cute. You remember Mark Fabiani don't you. He was the guy who coined the term vast right wing conspiracy in a report entitled "Communication Stream of Conspiracy Commerce" during the Clinton administration. Also tried to pimp the blame for the energy crisis on Bush. Helped Gore run for office.

Don't you love that they pick good people.

Apparently there is a bit of tension over there between the grassroots founders of Draft Clark and the Washington insiders like Fabiani.
