Can We Win the Guerrilla War?

I like Mr. Hoagland's point about the attacks earlier this week. They reminded me of an Old West hijacking of the stage coach on its way to the bank (albeit with AK's and RPG's instead of six-shooters and
Winchesters). Have you ever seen "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"? Eventually the authorities got smart, hired the tracker of all trackers and chased the boys out of the US and down to Bolivia. Then, the Bolivian military got involved and (we assume) took them out with overwhelming force. Maybe this should serve as a parable for our current situation. Track these guys to where they live/hide, and take them out.

Brian -- I don't understand how the press keeps presenting that "ambush" (hey! who knew I write for Reuters?) as a sign of the strength of the Iraqi insurgency. To start with, this convoy was accompanied by several Bradleys and tanks. Additionally, the ambushers were slaughtered, the money got through, and we sustained minimal injuries. Seems to me that if, even with that much coordination they can't overtake a convoy, we're doing alright. Not great, but alright.
