5-month grocery strike draws to an end:

Many employees who said they voted to ratify the contract said they were eager to return to their jobs. Some said the contract was not much different from one they received from their employers in October -- one that was rejected at the time by the union.

Some mixture of two different conclusions can be drawn from this:

1) Unions have become more of an annoyance for employers than a true force for change.
2) A down economy with higher-than-normal unemployment is an unwise time to call a strike.
