CNN.com - Source: Pakistan link to UK swoop - Aug 4, 2004:
At least one of 12 suspects held on suspicion of being involved in terrorist activities in Britain was arrested as a result of intelligence gathered from the arrest of a Pakistani computer expert, Pakistani intelligence officials tell CNN.
Sounds to me that this guy was quite a find.
I think that this is one of the few areas that the Bush campaign can effectively defend the President's record against Kerry's convention attacks. Kerry's biggest criticism was that he didn't build a big enough coalition to go into Iraq, and that by pushing ahead we alienated our allies, hurting the War On Terror.
Kerry may be right, but at the same time, the Bush administration has been building allies in unlikely places. Now, the Pakistani government isn't the most enlightened bunch, but if they're helping us catch the terrorists hanging out on their border with Afghanistan, then they seem like a pretty important ally.
Bush can highlight progress like the capture of this guy and Khalid Sheik Mohommad to show how we're getting more cooperation from the international community than Kerry might want to admit.
I wouldn't be surprised if this starts making it into speeches.
